Ordinary people see chaos and war on the TV and in their streets and schools and the utter lack of loyalty or even sanity of their elites and look to whatever tatters of community, kinship and religion they can find.
The elites also see the images of war and death on TV although rarely at home on the street. They too take comfort in their old standbys, hating us and taking away our job security, communities, and schools, and calling us racists. Thus they feel a return of their sense of order and sanity in the world. Joe Scarborough, this is you.
