Dr. Norm Matloff: “‘BEST AND BRIGHTEST’ MYTH UNMASKED.”

Dr. Norm Matloff writes

Over the weekend, the New York Times ran a piece whose theme, roughly stated, was “Here is a brilliant H-1B hired by Google whom the firm (and the U.S.) will lose due to overly restrictive immigration laws.”

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Where’s Sanjay?

http://roomfordebate.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/04/13/skilled-guest-workers-american-jobs/#comment-57433

“Sanjay Mavinkurve (pronounced MAY-vin-kur-VAY) was born in Bombay to working-class parents who soon moved to Saudi Arabia.”

“He started at Google in August 2003, as a product manager on the teams that developed Google News and the Google toolbar”
“The role Mr. Mavinkurve played in Google’s success was on stark display in early 2007, when the company’s map-making team faced a problem that even the best and brightest could not solve.”

“Of Google’s 20,000 workers, 2,000 were born abroad and work on temporary visas, while numerous others (the company would not disclose how many) have become American citizens or been granted permanent residency, the so-called green card status.”

Mr. Mavinkurve used a rare combination of creativity, analysis, engineering and an understanding of graphics to find a solution that had eluded the rest of the team, said Mark Crady, a manager in the maps group.

“He’s one of the best U.I. guys I’ve ever seen,” Mr. Crady said, referring to user interfaces. “Google Maps for mobile reflects Sanjay.”

John Miano is a lawyer and computer programmer.

This standard technique, known “color quantization,” has been used for years to reduce images size and speed up the drawing of images. That solution would come immediately to anyone with experience working with images. It’s hard to believe that no one at Google, other than Mr. Mavinkurve, could come up with this tried and true method. This suggests that Google is ignoring the vast pool of experienced workers who have the knowledge Google needs, while it claims it must have H-1B workers.

Color Quantization was posted at Wikipedia in 2006.

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Color_quantization&oldid=51179417
“This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Dcoetzee (talk | contribs) at 08:15, 2 May 2006. It may differ significantly from the current revision.”

“Color quantization is a process that reduces the number of distinct colors used in an image, usually with the intention that the new image should be as visually similar as possible to the original image. Computer algorithms to perform color quantization on bitmaps have been studied since the 1970s. Color quantization is critical for displaying images with many colors on devices that can only display a limited number of colors, usually due to memory limitations, and enables efficient compression of certain types of images.”

The Wikipedia article was posted in 2006 before the 2007 date the NYT gives for the H-1b’s insight.  So they could have just looked at Wikipedia.   Maybe he or others had.  The precise history of who thought of something is sometimes murky.   Do we need to hire H-1b’s to read Wikipedia?

““Not all our own people are able to get good jobs right now,” said Senator Jeff Sessions, Republican of Alabama and one of the members of Congress who oppose temporary work visas.”  NYT.

“When Google went public that August, Mr. Mavinkurve was on his way to becoming a multimillionaire.”  NYT.

The person who wrote this in 2006 at Wiki, how much did he get from Google in stock?

http://www.programmersguild.org/

Google estimates that it spends about $20 million a year on its immigration efforts — including lobbying, administration and fees to a law firm. Microsoft, while it would not disclose expenses, probably spends more. Its in-house immigration team numbers 20 lawyers and staff members.

On the political front, the tech industry lobbies Congress through an organization called Compete America, which includes titans like Intel, Microsoft, Google and Oracle.

“The next generation of Google engineers are being turned down,” says Pablo Chavez, Google’s senior policy counsel. “If a foreign-born engineer doesn’t come to Google, there is a very good chance that individual will return to India to compete against us.”

By reading Wikipedia in India.

““I’m not sure I want to go back,” he said of the possibility of moving back to the United States. “I’m not sure I can.””  NYT.

If Google brings him back, they should be sure to indicate on the application forms that color quantization was in Wikipedia in 2006 before he applied color quantization in 2007.

(One can’t help wonder if Google’s lawyers knew it was in Wikipedia in 2006 before the 2007 application by the H-1b.  Who suggested this case to the New York Times?  When Google’s lawyers learned this case was being submitted to the NYT did they at that point know the issue that it had been in Wikipedia already?  During the time they met with or talked to the NYT did Google’s lawyers know that?  There are a lot of interesting questions for the NYT or other journalists or interested persons to delve into here.  This is a chance for real investigative journalism.

Will Google’s lawyers show the paperwork and internal files on this person and on their handling of the NYT?  Did they control the process of Google employees talking to the NYT to control the information on color quantization and keep Google employees from telling the NYT that color quantization was in Wikipedia in 2006? Didn’t Google know that before the NYT interview? How high does this management of the NYT interaction go up?  Did they intend Congress to read this article and believe it for its truth?  For immigration authorities in the US and Canada?

Electricity Grid in U.S. Penetrated By Spies

Its an inside job made to look like an outside job is one hypothesis.  The Chinese, Russians, Indians, etc. on the inside give the codes, layouts, etc. to profs at their home base universities in China, Russia and India who pass it on to the intel service of their country.

Then from computers based in their home countries they test out what they have been given and make it look like they are hacking, e.g. trying random passwords when they already know what the password is.  They simply create random variations of the true password with the true one in the middle in sequence varying single letters around it.  So it looks like it was luck.

Example.  Suppose the password was loyalty.  Then they create a sequence

koyalty

loyalty

moyalty

It looks like they are randomly seeking for loyalty and find it just by chance.

The entire thing was an inside job. The passwords, the architecture, the links, the source code, etc. all are obtained on the inside by H-1b’s, Green Cards, children of immigrants born in the US, etc.  They then pass it all back.  Then its made to look like an outside hacking job using the above technique and similar ones.  There are also many seeming failures just to make it look like its hard.

The inside people give them the source code of the systems showing weaknesses, possibly even written by them.   The bosses are people like Steven Chu whose parents came from China in the 1940’s and who now ends Department of Energy.  They impose harsh penalties for whites who report suspicious behavior by calling it racism.

Principles for a Diverse Community

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is principally an institution of scientific research, committed to addressing the needs of society. A diverse workforce is an invaluable asset to innovation and research excellence. To this end, we must embody the following principles to successfully affect the Laboratory’s mission and embrace our diverse workplace community.

  • We affirm the inherent dignity in all of us and strive to maintain an environment characterized by respect, fairness, and inclusion. Our valued community encompasses an array of races, creeds, and social circumstances. We recognize and cherish the richness contributed by our diversity.
  • We accept open expression of our individuality and diversity within the bounds of courtesy, respoect, and sensitivity. We take pride in our collective achievements. We honor our differences.
  • As mandated by law and reaffirmed here, we will not tolerate any manifestations of discrimination, including those based on race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, religious or political beliefs, and status within the Laboratory.

If you are an American programmer who still has a programming job at a local power company are you going to report suspicious behavior by your Chinese Berkeley Ph.D. boss?
== Following questions posted to NYT
Some questions for Google’s lawyers.    These are questions not assertions.

(1) Did Google’s lawyers or Google know that color quantization was an old method while having discussions with New York Times?

(2) Did Google’s lawyers decide to conceal this from the NYT?

(3) Did Google’s lawyers know that color quantization was an article in Wikipedia in 2006 prior to the 2007 use of color quantization by the Google team?

(4) Did the Google team in 2007 use Google to search on color quantization and found the Wiki article from 2006 and read it at that time?

(5) Did this Google team then form an agreement to not tell that to the NYT for this article?

(6) Did the NYT approach tech people at Google and then the lawyers at Google learned there was this issue and the lawyers stage managed all discussions with NYT to conceal from NYT that the color quantization article was in Wiki in 2006 and that Google accessed it in 2007?

(7) Or did Google’s immigration lawyers or lobbyists have an earlier hand in this sequence?

(8) Did Google’s immigration lawyers and lobbyists intend that Congress would read this article and be deceived as to the novelty in using color quantization?

(9) Did Google’s lobbyists and lawyers intend to conceal from Congress that Google used the Wiki color quantization article in 2006?

(10) If lobbyists to Congress form an agreement to withhold information from a NYT reporter with the intent to withhold it from Congress and mislead Congress, what are the implications of that?

(11) How likely is it that Google and its lawyers and lobbyists didn’t know that color quantization was in Wiki?  Its the first hit result in Google search.

The NYT and Congress and the immigration authorities should follow up on this case and ask these questions to Google’s lawyers and lobbyists.  The above are questions not assertions.

No.  US colleges are networks for foreign takeover of US high tech and banking and business.  Profs in US take college grads from India and China from their profs there as Ph.D. students here.  The result is Americans are closed out.  They are in many cases closely linked to the intelligence services of their own countries.

Not only do they get tech know-how, they gather blackmail info on universities, companies, and government.  These are offensive networks controlled from universities in India and China and from government agencies in those countries.

The PM of India is himself part of this info gathering network and it was used to help pressure the Bush admin to give India our nuclear know-how in the India nuclear deal.

US schools should educate Americans only without foreigners being around.  The level of foreigners is so high that the schools teach ethnic cleansing of Americans and disloyalty to the US.

US night vision know-how was transferred to China by these students and profs and then sold to insurgents ho use it to plant IED’s.  If you see a US soldier with an artificial limb, that came from these H-1b’s, “students” and “profs” in America.  They killed and maimed American soldiers by giving our night vision know-how to China to sell to the insurgents.  Search Chinese night vision to see the market.

They complain about returning to their own country. What about giving our country back to us? Leave. Leave now.

” We investigated various cases of the island model with stochastic migration. If the population is infinite, the immigrants have a fixed gene frequency and the alleles are neutral, the gene frequency on the island converges to that of the immigrants.”

Student visas, H-1b, all legal immigration is how the genocide happens. The MSM support genocide by supporting immigration.

MSM papers are going out of business because they are disloyal.

Men’s median wages are the same as in 1973. See graph page 19 of

http://www.census.gov/prod/2008pubs/p60-235.pdf

Women’s median wages are where men’s were in 1960. Women’s wages stopped get closer to men’s after 1990 when legal immigration was increased.

Stop genocide. All legal immigration is racism. Support NumbersUSA, Fairus, Vdare and comment at Dan Stein and patriotic bloggers like Vanishing American.

One comment at WaPo said that Indians discriminate against Americans.  This is true at universities, tech firms, banks, government, and everywhere else.  They have an ethic of ethnic cleansing of whites and others.

==Giuliani Position

EXPANDING OUR INVOLVEMENT IN THE GLOBAL ECONOMY

Strengthen America’s 21st Century Workforce: Education is power in an information economy. American workers must be the best trained and prepared workforce in the world in order to successfully compete in the global economy.

* Promote science and mathematics through technical certification or an associate degree.

* Advance successful training programs leading to competitive skills the market demands.

* Allow early withdrawal from retirement accounts for qualified retraining programs.

* Expand the number of H1B Visas for skilled foreign workers to meet market demand.

H-1B is what undermines incentives for students to study math and science. This goes all the way back from employer to K-12. If you can’t get a good secure job in science and math, why get a Ph.D.? If Americans don’t get Ph.D.’s, why should TA’s from China and India teach American undergrads science and math? If undergrads are not taught science and math, who will teach science and math in K-12? Who in K-12 will want to learn science and math if the Chinese and Indian TA’s don’t want to teach it to them in college?

Is Giuliani getting his attitudes on Americans from Ravi Aron or those at New York investment banks who think the same way?

=Back to Rudi

Create “Global Prosperity Initiative”: Bringing more countries and people into the global marketplace will make America safer and create new markets for our products worldwide.

We have the market. Our textile and toy industries have been destroyed. China sends “terrorist toys” here to kill us, see David Yeagley.

America must promote higher living standards around the world, help reform the International Monetary Fund and World Bank to encourage pro-growth policies, and distribute foreign aid in ways that reinforce good governance and economic freedom, similar to the Millennium Challenge Corporation.

These institutions are staffed by Ph.D.’s in econ and business from US schools. Has this worked?

Aggressively Advance Free Trade: Rudy will tear down the walls to free trade and create new markets for American-made products. He will protect America’s innovations and intellectual property by enforcing our trade agreements aggressively.

The way to keep our know-how is to stop foreign students and workers coming here. Teach our own our know-how in school and at work.

* Reduce corporate tax rates and regulatory burden so that Americans can better compete in the global economy.

What about Chinese toy terrorism (Yeagley)? What about know-how transfer to India and China?

* Reform the excesses of Sarbanes-Oxley that are driving our corporations overseas to list on foreign exchanges.

The man who prosecuted the junk bond king, Michael Milliken, has now turned around on this. What else will he change on?

* Reenact the Presidential Fast-Track Trade Promotion Authority and complete the Doha Development Round.

STRENGTHENING OUR REPUTATION AROUND THE WORLD

Refocus State Department and Reform Foreign Service: Rudy will set new priorities for America’s representatives to better promote U.S. policies abroad, while measuring the success of ambassadors and embassies. He will reform and increase the size of Foreign Service and expand language training to meet the demands of the 21st Century.

Combat Anti-Americanism: America must win the war of ideas.

H-1B is anti-Americanism in practice.

Rudy will reform and refocus our international broadcasters, such as Voice of America, and will better coordinate our government’s global communications to help export the idea of freedom and our values, and stimulate debate within oppressed societies.

How about import the idea of loyalty to the people of this country? Other countries think that way? The only way our politicians will be loyal is when they are replaced by immigrant politicians who are open in their true loyalties. Don’t vote for politicians disloyal to their own, they are loyal to no one, only to money. Don’t support disloyal TV stations or newspapers, or move studios. Don’t be the fan of disloyal celebrities.

Expand U.S.-Muslim Exchange Programs: Rudy will promote economic, cultural, and educational engagement with the Arab and Muslim through public-private partnerships to turn the tide against radical Islamic terrorists and connect more countries to the global marketplace of ideas.

Do Rudi’s supporters read his web page? Isn’t this what they are against?

Protect Freedom: Promoting religious and political freedom, human rights and democracy for dissidents across the world, along with supporting women’s rights and promoting women’s education in the Arab and Muslim world, must be a top priority.

Giuliani Still Soft on Illegal Immigration

[Randall Burns] @ 12:16 pm [Email author] [Email This Article] [Print This Article]

http://sify.com/news/fullstory.php?id=14554741

Washington: With India’s international profile soaring, most candidates for the 2008 US presidential election on either side of the political divide are making a concerted bid to woo Indian American voters and their top donors.

Almost all the candidates serving in US Congress voted for a landmark law to begin civilian nuclear cooperation with India as well as a range of other economic deals and unlike 2004, outsourcing to India is yet to emerge as a major election issue.

Leading Democratic hopeful Hillary Clinton, who enjoys great support in the nearly two million strong Indian American community, has said: “In Asia, India has a special significance both as an emerging power and as the world’s most populous democracy.”

http://www.iht.com/articles/2007/06/19/news/obama.php

Obama on Monday disavowed the memo, which was headlined, “Hillary Clinton (D-Punjab),” a play on the standard reference to a candidate’s party and constituency. The memo referred to investments in India by former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton; her fund-raising among Indian-Americans; and the former president’s $300,000 in speech fees from Cisco, a company that has moved U.S. jobs to India.

I have “retrained” – done as the globalist free traders insisted in the 90s after NAFTA and today as they push new trade deals. I remade myself into an “information technology professional” — a technical writer, software tester, software engineer and database administrator. I did this with a lot of support from my wife at considerable personal and financial cost. The time and money devoted to this endeavor was significant.

Now, after more than a decade of IT work, I face the continuous, even mounting threat of replacement with imported “guest workers” and job loss to offshore outsourcing.

Giuliani Kerik

Giuliani Kerik police commissioner knew

http://www.newsday.com/news/columnists/ny-oppay115454628nov11,0,3107857.column

Long before Kerik’s current troubles, in fact even before he was named police commissioner in 2000, then-mayor Giuliani ignored warnings about his shady ethics. First, Giuliani flatly denied to the press that he was been warned about Kerik lobbying city officials for Interstate Industrial Corp., a construction company reportedly linked to organized crime. Years later, before a grand jury, Giuliani changed his denial to a muddle about having been told that he had been warned, but maintaining that he, himself, did not remember, according to The New York Times.

This is a whole new meaning to the phrase: Rudi “Tell it to the Grand Jury” Giuliani.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/10/nyregion/10about.html?em&ex=1194843600&en=eb552e6bc7d0b46f&ei=5087%0A

“Sure, there were issues,” Mr. Giuliani told The Associated Press this week, “but if I have the same degree of success and failure as president of the United States, this country will be in great shape.”

Giuliani was told about Kerik’s issues before appointing him police commissioner. Then he hired Kerik at Giuliani’s firm. Then he recommended Kerik to Bush to be head of Homeland Security. This was after Giuliani had been US Attorney for USAO SDNY.

There are three interpretations from this. Giuliani had a lapse of judgement. For example, he put loyalty above duty. Giuliani is corrupt. The system is corrupt, Giuliani knew these issues or worse are in the records of appointed and elected officials, so Giuliani appointed Kerik, then hired him at his firm, and then recommended him to Bush.

This is the system for the powerful and wealthy under the last interpretation. If you want to get ahead, you form a pact with the wealthy and powerful to ignore these issues. But isn’t that why Giuliani prosecuted Milliken? For having pacts among the powerful and wealthy to ignore market conduct rules?

Is the reason Giuliani wanted Kerik as police commissioner, then as employee, and then to be head of Homeland Security, precisely because he has issues? Kerik won’t make waves or investigate the powerful and wealthy who are part of the pact among the elite to ignore each other’s issues and not ask questions or tell what they know?

This is what Bush wanted for Homeland Security chief? It wasn’t a betray by Giuliani of Bush to recommend Kerik, but Giuliani knew that is what Bush wanted, and Giuliani supplied it? This is mafia like corruption? Isn’t that what Giuliani prosecuted as US Attorney for the Southern District of New York?

==Corruption and sticking it to us on H-1B is their way

Just as they protect each other on “issues” in their files or life, so they stick it to us on H-1B and the rest of immigration. They know all of it. They do it to us because they can. Just like they protect each other, because they can. Its not “personal”? They don’t really have animosity towards us? It isn’t meant to hurt us? They just know it does in advance, say it doesn’t, and do it. They keep doing it over and over again, with the same result, they get richer, and we get poorer and less secure in our jobs and lives.

Rudi and Hillary don’t really mean to take away our job security, so we should vote for them anyhow? You get more of what you vote for. If you vote for losing job security and workplace dignity, you get more. If you vote for educating Asians on student visas instead of Americans, you get more of that. Rudi and Hillary say if you protest, then you are a bigot. Actually, if you don’t protest, you are a chump.

You aren’t going to get job security by keeping silent. To paraphrase Ben Franklin, he who keeps silent about H-1B gains neither job security for his opinions nor job security in the market. The plain fact is, H-1B takes your job security. If you don’t stop it, you lose your job security. Not speaking up doesn’t work.

Don’t vote for Rudi or Hillary or any of the others who advocate for H-1B. If they want our vote, they can say they have had a conversion on H-1B not just amnesty. Until they say zero H-1B, zero votes for them. The zero zero policy.

Rudi supporters say we have to vote for Rudi so he will stop Islamofascism.  They don’t even say he is for stopping Islam, in fact he and they are for Muslims in our military after loose nukes were discovered flying across America.  If Rudi wants to stop Islamofascism, he can say he is against H-1B.

Hillary supporters say we have to vote for Hillary for health care.  The same applies above.  If she wants to give us health care, she can give us job security and end immigration.  She is the one who wants job security, by legalizing Mexican votes for Democrats.

Rove wants the same thing, to give Rove job security and take ours away.  We don’t get job security by voting for Hillary or Rove picks.  We won’t have health security if we don’t have job security.

We can’t give health care to the third world or even Mexico.  43 percent of Mexicans in the US are on public support of one type or another.  Voting for Hillary just increases that number.

That bankrupts us faster.  Our currency is falling.  Our factories are in China.  China poisons our children because its cheap.  H-1B’s are brought here to take our wages away.  Rudi and Hillary are for all this.  Time to stop voting for them.

==

The political class has sold us out completely for India. They are prostrating themselves before them. We are nothing. We should vote for the Constitution Party. When you vote for crooks, you don’t just waste your vote, you get more of what you vote for. Don’t vote for those who sell you out on your job. That is wasting your vote. Vote third party.

Mitt Romney Immigration H-1B China First

September 27, 2007

Mitt Romney if elected president will do everything possible to help China and India supplant the U.S.

http://www.mittromney.com/Issue-Watch/Immigration

Immigration has been an important part of our nation’s success. The current system, however, puts up a concrete wall to the best and brightest, yet those without skill or education are able to walk across the border. We must reform the current immigration laws so we can secure our borders, implement a mandatory biometrically enabled, tamper proof documentation and employment verification system, and increase legal immigration into America.

To paraphrase Bill Maher (http://www.billmaher.com/) When you ride with Romney you ride with the Chinese intelligence service.

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gUDwY3ePc18rXfxD59EQvcKtvC3A

During the town-hall meeting, Romney played to the Silicon Valley crowd, some of whom work at nearby Google, Cisco Systems and Apple Inc.

Romney also expressed interest in expanding the number of H-1B visas, which allow employers to seek temporary help from foreigners holding at least a bachelor’s degree.

“H-1B visas are a great source of a brain magnet, if you will, bringing people into this country who have skill and experience from other countries,” he said.

Lamenting that many foreign doctoral candidates must leave the country after graduation, Romney added: “I’d rather staple a green card to your diploma and say that if you can get a Ph.D. from one of our great institutions, we’d love you to stay here.”

Romney pandered to the Silicon Valley Venture Capitalists that he dealt with while at Bain. Romney made 250 million by helping China and India get US know-how and US jobs and pushing down American programmers, engineers, scientists, and students who aspire to those jobs and a good life with income security. Romney has made his choice. Win or lose, Romney is on the side of Silicon Valley VC’s who have already turned their back on America and are loyal to the Chinese intelligence service. Romney and the VC’s give dual employment to employees of Chinese intelligence at their companies.

http://www.mercurynews.com/localnewsheadlines/ci_6992274

Talo Mahuinga, president of Kainga Tonga U.S.A, a Bay Area Tongan group, said he plans to vote for Romney. “I like his family values,” he said.

But Paul Steffas, who works for an alternative energy company, was underwhelmed. Steffas said he had hoped to hear the businessman-candidate talk more about the valley’s role as a global technology leader. “I’m not sure he knew his audience,” Steffas said.

The H-1B Brain Magnet?” By Dan Stein:

“[Mitt] Romney can’t really believe what he said about Democrats because some his policies are almost identical. Like every Democratic candidate, and all Republicans with the exception of Tancredo, Romney thinks the number of H-1B visas should be increased. He argued that H-1B visas are used to attract smart people to the U.S. for positions in computer programming in engineering that Americans can’t or won’t do, but the truth of the matter is that H-1B is nothing but a way for employers to import cheap labor,” says Rob Sanchez in the Job Destruction Newsletter.

“Mitt Romney said that H-1B is a brain magnet that attracts the best and brightest foreign people to the United States. If Romney is right we should allow H-1Bs to run for president because so far I haven’t seen any candidate for president that is smart enough to run this country. Surely it couldn’t be difficult to use that brain magnet to import a politician that s smarter than our current crop of dunderheads running for president – and we could probably cut the H-1B president’s salary in half.”

Also, The New York Times has an interesting article on Indian outsourcing company Infosys today. “Such is the new outsourcing: A company in the United States pays an Indian vendor 7,000 miles away to supply it with Mexican engineers working 150 miles south of the United States border.”

Tom Tancredo against H-1B

August 5, 2007

Randall Burns by email has graciously supplied me with some information that makes the issue of Tom Tancredo and H-1B a little more complicated to understand.

http://www.zazona.com/NewsArchive/2005-09-21%20Tancredo's%20un-REAL%20GUEST%20Ac
t%20of%202005.htm
http://www.outlander.com/policy/imref.htm

and the following that I found in a search

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1054928/posts

Rather than characterize this material myself at this time, I will let the reader follow the leader, in this case Randall Burns, to these other sites.

== The post I had before the input from Randall Burns:

Tom Tancredo has on numerous occasions taken a strong stand against H-1B visas. The following shows that Tancredo has a strong record against H-1B.

Better Immigration has what appears to be an error in its grade for Tom Tancredo as a member of the Colorado Delegation.

For Tom Tancredo as a presidential candidate, they give him an A+ and a check on all items. This is a detailed list.

http://www.betterimmigration.com/candidates/2006/TancredoPres08.html

http://www.betterimmigration.com/candidates/2006/prez08_gop2.html

For his individual record in the Colorado Delegation they show him with a B+/C+ on visa workers.

http://grades.betterimmigration.com/testgrades.php3?District=CO06&VIPID=146

Tancredo’s Numbers USA profile is all green as well:

http://profiles.numbersusa.com/improfile.php3?DistSend=CO&VIPID=146

This error has propagated to Wikipedia:

Tancredo was an early critic of H-1b expansion. However, his recent votes in that area have been only slightly more restrictive than the average member of Congress and earned a C+ from Americans for Better Immigration, a project of NumbersUSA, in that area of immigration policy.

In 2005, Tancredo sponsored legislation to eliminate H-1B visas for temporary workers[28].

Americans for Better Immigration has awarded Tancredo a career score of 100% and a career grade of A+ for his opposition to amnesty for illegal aliens [29], his efforts to eliminate the automatic granting of citizenship to the babies of illegal aliens[30] and for his support of the interior enforcement of United States immigration laws[31]. In 2007, they awarded Tancredo a “Congressional Immigration Reduction Grade” of A+.[32]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Tancredo

http://grades.betterimmigration.com/testgrades.php3?District=CO06&VIPID=146

Randall Burns has written a recent column relying on the seemingly incorrect Colorado delegation record for Tancredo at Better Immigration, showing a poor voting record for Tancredo on H-1B. We find, as indicated above, with further research that that webpage appears to be inaccurate.

(In the google blog search engine, for Tancredo H-1B and some other searches, it picks up the Randall Burns quote, and thus gives an incorrect view of this column which finds no support for the poor record on H-1B indicated by the website Burns linked to.)

Tancredo Statement to House June 18, 2003

Reference: Congressional Record Online (highlighting added)

So I am saying that it is now approaching a million people, if not more, that are here under an H-1b program that are taking jobs in “that high-tech industry that no other American would take.” Does anybody really buy that?

What we know is that they are being given these visas because they will work for less. It is a cheap labor program.

Randall Burns]

Furthermore, despite his early attention to H-1b expansion, Tancredo’s recent voting record on H-1b expansion has been fairly weak. Paul has placed less emphasis on immigration, but has a stronger recent record on H-1b expansion.

Is this vote record on Tancredo accurate? It seems in conflict with the Numbers USA link above on Tancredo’s voting record and Tancredo’s statements on H-1B. The website Randall Burns references, Better Immigration, lacks a link to the House on actual votes of Tancredo.

Numbers USA does have links to the Library of Congress webpage.

Cosponsored bill to reduce foreign worker importation by eliminating the H-1B program in 2005-2006
Rep. Tancredo was a cosponsor of H.R 1325, to repeal the H-1B visa category for temporary workers in specialty occupations. The H-1B program increases the number of high-tech workers allowed into the U.S; however, there aren’t that many high-tech jobs available in the U.S.Without evidence of a shortage of high-tech workers, and considering it is laden with fraud and abuse, there is no need for the H-1B program. H.R. 1325 recognizes the fact that the program is obsolete – if it was ever truly needed – and puts an end to the unfair job competition for America’s high-tech workers. Read a summary of the bill here.
Cosponsored legislation to protect American jobs by reforming the L-1 and H-1B visa programs in 2003-2004
Rep. Tancredo cosponsored H.R. 2849, the USA Jobs Protection Act of 2003. H.R. 2849 would have implemented reforms of the H-1B and L-1 visa programs aimed at preventing American high-tech workers from being displaced by foreign workers. The legislation included important protections for American workers, including prevailing wage and no-layoff provisions. It also extended current no-layoff provisions for H-1B dependent employers to all H-1B employers. A companion bill, S. 1452, was introduced in the Senate by Senator Dodd.
Cosponsored bill to abolish the H-1B program in 2003-2004
Rep. Tancredo cosponsored H.R. 2688, a bill to abolish the H-1B visa program. Introduced by Rep. Tom Tancredo, H.R. 2688 would have put an end to the H-1B foreign-worker importation program that primarily allocates visas to high-tech workers. The annual cap of 195,000 on H-1B visas returned to its previous level of 65,000 in October of 2003.

re George Will: A Report Overtaken by Reality

December 7, 2006

“The Iraq Study Group, like the policy it was created to critique, was overtaken by the unexpectedly rapid crumbling of the U.S. position in Iraq.”

Comments

http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn//comments/display?contentID=AR2006120601672&start=1⊂=AR

George Will supports giving US night vision technology to the insurgents through China. That’s one reason we are losing in Iraq.

George Will quote Conservatives should favor a policy of encouraging unlimited immigration by educated people with math, engineering, technology or science skills that America’s education system is not sufficiently supplying. end quote. From “Guard the Borders — And Face Facts, Too” By George F. Wil Thursday, March 30, 2006; Page A23

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/03/29/AR2006032902004.html

This transfers US night vision and other technology to China, India, Russia etc. From there it goes to Iran, Pakistan, Syria, and Saudi Arabia which give it to the insurgents.

Will and his speaking fees

http://www.mydd.com/story/2005/1/12/143558/031

quote Will wrote a column on Conrad Black’s foreign policy views without revealing that he gets $25,000 each time he attends a meeting of Black’s advisory board. When asked about this, Will replied, “My business is my business,” adding, “Got it?” end quote from Chris Bowers.

Will takes speaking fees from corporations and universities that benefit from the immigration he advocates. He has been doing it for decades. This is when the early generation night vision and other high tech went to China. Now generation III has been stolen. Hezbollah also uses it in Lebanon from Iran.

==

After Dec 7, 1941, we stopped immigration, tourism and student visas. We kept our know-how to ourselves, we didn’t give it to Chinese and Indian grad students and H1B’s to give to our enemies.

But Will takes speaking fees from corporations and universities that do that. So does William Kristol. They have betrayed our troops by giving away our know-how during time of war. So have Bush, McCain, Kennedy, Pelosi, etc.

Children of Chinese Communist profs in China who come to US grad programs are loyal to their parents not to George Will or Bill Kristol.

re “Already Too Busy for Civility”

November 30, 2006

“Jim Webb, Democratic senator-elect from Virginia, has become a pompous poseur and an abuser of the English language before actually becoming a senator.”

Will is saying Webb is a poseur because Webb says he is for people. Webb wants to stop all guest worker. This includes H1B. Immigration harms young adults by taking away their job security. Without that they can’t get married, have kids and stay married.

Without that, our society loses purpose and meaning. That is precisely what people compalin of. Teens see they have no future and commit meaningless violence.

George Will is the pompous poseur. He is halfway in the K-Street door of the RINO elite that is for big immigration and considers Americans bigots for wanting to end it, all of it legal or illegal.

Will supports amnesty (admittedly Webb does too)

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/03/29/AR2006032902004.html

Will supports unlimited H1B’s.

“Conservatives should favor a policy of encouraging unlimited immigration by educated people with math, engineering, technology or science skills that America’s education system is not sufficiently supplying.”

See also for a pro Will perspective:

Will, Fred Barnes, Bill Kristol, and Paul Gigot do not support the more stringent Tancredo approach and Kristol even calls his approach “liberal.” More and more of the conservative pundits, minus Pat Buchanan, seem to favor this type of pragmatic approach.”

In today’s world, an economist is someone who can prove definitively that you have no right to have a job, or medical insurance, and that your job not only SHOULD be shipped to India, but an economically reasonable person would be EAGER to see their job off-shored.

That’s George Will. He is sitting there telling the rest of us that we have no rights to jobs, and that economic rationality means that all our jobs will soon go to China, and that we should be pleased with this.

Why doesn’t George Will just say he is for MSM government of the elite by the elite for the elite. He is condemnding Webb, lest government of the elite should perish from Washington D.C., WaPo and the rest of the MSM. I am surprised he didn’t attack Lou Dobbs and Tom Tancredo while he was at it.

Or maybe its government of the people by the elite for the elite.

George Will is an anti-American bigot. You can hear it when he and the elite talk about immigration. Because they can’t stay married after they have kids, they won’t have kids. Because they won’t have kids, they won’t get married. Because they won’t get married, they don’t have to be paid well or get benefits. This is the elite mentality. Will is a spokesperson for the CEO’s. Webb is exposing that. quote Saudi Government Provided Aid to 9/11 Hijackers, Sources Say
By Josh Meyer
The Los Angeles Times

Saturday 02 August 2003

WASHINGTON – The 27 classified pages of a congressional report about Sept. 11 depict a Saudi government that not only provided significant money and aid to the suicide hijackers but also allowed potentially hundreds of millions of dollars to flow to Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups through suspect charities and other fronts, according to sources familiar with the document.

One U.S. official who has read the classified section said it describes “very direct, very specific links” between Saudi officials, two of the San Diego-based hijackers and other potential co-conspirators “that cannot be passed off as rogue, isolated or coincidental.”

Said another official: “It’s really damning. What it says is that not only Saudi entities or nationals are implicated in 9/11, but the [Saudi] government” as well. end quote.

We are supposed to sacrifice to get education for them, and then you take them from us and give them to people from India and China. Since 9-11, the price of oil has gone from about 25 dollars a barrel to over 60. So Saudi Princes income is up. Prince Bandar and Prince al Turki have done well with the Bush post 9-11 policy of blame Saddam.

But the American middle class is left behind. We need job security for young adults so they can get married, have kids and stay married. That means no immigration, no guest worker. That isn’t a delusion, its reality.

A better tack on immigration

By R. Emmett Tyrrell Jr.
December 2, 2005

“There is a market for immigrants in this country. The president is more cognizant of this than those who would restrict immigration. But consider the market for a minute: (1) producers need immigrants; (2) Immigrants come because there is work that enriches them. This market has helped the economy. It is growing robustly and without unemployment, one of the feared downsides of immigration or even illegal immigration. We are almost at full employment, and with 2 to 3 times as many illegal immigrants in the country as in the mid-1980s, when former Sen. Alan Simpson, Wyoming Republican, last addressed the immigration issue. That pretty much proves the economy can accept immigration and prosper.”

So Tyrrel is a big immigrationist, just like George Will. Both want to take away job security from young adults, thus depriving them of the essential security to get married, have kids and stay married.

December 1, 2006 This is another attack piece on Webb. This may be a response to yesterday’s reader response to George Will. Tyrrell published George Will in his American Spectator. Tyrrell like Will supports big immigration and guest worker.

Tyrrell is part of the Washington big immigration establishment. Unemployment is low, but median wages for men are below what they were in 1973.

Tyrrell is pushing immigration for employers. Tyrrell is pushing down our wages and our benefits.

Young adults need job security. They need jobs with good wages and benefits. They need job security to get married, have kids and stay married.

They look forward and work backwards. They may not stay married with kids without a good job, especially for the man. Men’s wages are below what they were in 1973.

They won’t have kids if they are married if they don’t think they will have job security and stay married. So they don’t have kids while married.

Because they have figured out they won’t have kids if they get married, they don’t get married. So the lack of job security works its way backwards in their decision tree.

They can’t be sure they will stay married after having kids, so they don’t have kids while married. They forecast that, so they don’t get married.

Teenagers then see that they have no near term prospects of settling down. That takes away meaning from their lives. Their biological clock tells them to have kids as teens. But they see that men of all ages are losing good jobs and not getting new jobs with good wages, benefits, job security, and workplace dignity.

So teens go wilding without the prospect of entering a stable adult world as workers and parents. This undermines the entire stability of society. The result is crime. Teen crime shoots up. This is what happened after the 1965 Immigration Act. Congress created a crime wave. We are living in it still.

Tyrrell and Will have supported Chinese and Indian grad students and H1B’s coming to America. They have gained our night vision tech and produce it in China and India and sell it to Pakistan, Iran and Saudi Arabia. They supply it to the insurgents to use against our troops. Tyrrell and Will have supported this know-how transfer and championed it.

Christians in Virginia and Indiana won’t listen to the left attack Tyrrell and Will. But they will listen to Webb. Webb is an authentic American hero. When he tells Christians in Virginia and Indiana that Tyrrell and Wil have given our night vision to Chinese grad students and now its
in the hands of insurgents who use it to kill and maim our troops, those Christians will listen.

That is why Tyrrell and Will fear Webb. Tyrrell and Will are not loyal to Americans. They are not loyal to the Christians in Indiana and Virginia who listen to them. Webb is someone those Christians will listen to and learn the truth that Tyrrell and Will have put our night vision in the hands of insurgents who kill and maim our troops.

They are being paid off by the Washington establishment and ultimately law firms and think tanks acting for China. Tyrrell and Will don’t want Christians in Virginia and Indiana to hear this from Webb. Neither do George Bush or John McCain.

Webb won’t just take money and be quiet. They want Webb to take the Washington money and pretend to be for people, like them. They want Webb to let China get our night vision and pretend to support our troops, like them. Will wants to damage the character of Webb. Will was looking for something. So was Tyrrell. They are fuax conservatives.

They have gone along with giving our high tech night vision to China and India through grad students, profs, and H1B’s. That night vision goes to Iran, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and then to the insurgents.

The larger point is that Webb won’t be bought and will tell the truth. Webb can tell that Washington pundits are bought or at least rented on many issues. Or they sell themselves out on their own. These right wing pundits say they support our troops while they give our night vision to China through H1B, grad students, etc. That ends up with the insurgents who kill and maim our troops. That doesn’t save money. They take our educational opportunities in math and physics, our job security, our wages, our benefits, our careers, and then our technology ends up maiming and killing our troops. Webb is willing to tell this truth. He isn’t part of the immigration industrial complex. He isn’t part of the George Will spin complex. They are launching a pre-emptive attack. They were looking for something.

Webb has the opposite view. Will doesn’t want people who will listen to Webb to hear Webb expose Will’s continuing betrayal of our country.

Saudi Government Provided Aid to 9/11 Hijackers, Sources Say

George Will in March 30, 2006: “Conservatives should favor a policy of encouraging unlimited immigration by educated people with math, engineering, technology or science skills that America’s education system is not sufficiently supplying.”

Webb is saying there is more income inequality today. Will in Nov 2006 says we have 28 percent college degrees, showing Americans are educated. But in March 2006, Will said Americans don’t learn anything in college, i.e. math and science, and that the school system can’t teach them.

If Americans can’t do hard stuff, as Will says in March, then more degrees won’t eliminate the income inequality. Will is willing to say anything based on what point he wants to make. Americans wrote the textbooks in calculus, Apostol, Spivak, Leithholds, etc. If Americans can write the textbooks, can’t they learn from them? Webb doesn’t have this anti-American bigot attitude that Will does, that’s why Will has to discredit him.

We invented night vision in the US but now the Chinese have it and it ends up with the insurgents killing and maiming our troops. It hurt Israel in Lebanon in 2006.

Is there merchant of death money (American GI’s deaths and maiming) that flows back to Will or any legal entity he has any link to from the know-how transfer to China by H1B’s, grad students, etc?

By OldAtlantic | Dec 3, 2006 1:51:20 PM

“Economists are Making a Grave Mistake”

This is a great summary of the reality of the job market. Men’s average wages peaked in 1973. The median wage has gone down because the superstar CEO, prof, etc wages have gone up.

One important point the above post makes is that “more education” is not the answer. Employers in the US want cheap H1B labor, so more education is often a negative for Americans to these employers.

One thing the article didn’t point out is the incredible incompetence and cost in the current system. Managers who are incompetent are hiring average or lower skilled H1B’s who won’t expose or threaten them.

The Peter Principle in H1B form is that a manager or prof who reaches their level of incompetence will hire H1B’s below them who are even more incompetent and quiet.

What this shows is the mechanism of “Unpleasant Immigration Arithmetic”.  Americans are being substituted for at a biological level.  At an individual level that is called being laid off or not finding work.   This is what Bush, Kennedy and McCain want.  Its what Cornyn and George Allen’s Skil Bill is about, ending the lives of Americans.

This is substitution effect from multiple mechanisms, of which all forms of immigration are a part. Americans are letting their lives disappear.  They have to stand up and tell Bush, Kennedy, McCain, George Allen, Jim Webb, etc. to stop every type of immigration.
