Lawrence Auster raises what are the links between Soros and the Reform Institute and McCain. The following shed light on this.

Reform Institute Senior Fellow Receives Award (06-15-07)

Reform Institute Senior Fellow Juan Hernandez received the Esperanza Advocate Award at the Esperanza USA 2007 National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast and Conference on June 15 for his work advocating comprehensive immigration reform. Other awardees and speakers at the event included President Bush, Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez, Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY), Sen. Mel Martinez (R-FL), DNC Chairman Howard Dean, and Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-MA).

Juan Hernandez is now with the McCain campaign.

Hernandez would be DHS secretary Michelle Malkin speculates.

The July 6, 2001, homepage of the Reform Institute archived on the Internet lists founder McCain as chairman of the group’s advisory committee.

Prominent senior officials on the McCain 2008 presidential campaign staff found generously paid positions at the Reform Institute following the senator’s unsuccessful run for the White House in 2000.

Rick Davis, McCain’s current campaign manager, was paid $110,000 a year by the Reform Institute for a consulting position, according to the group’s 2003 Form 990 filing with the IRS.

==Hernandez put Mexico First

Mexico First?
McCain has embraced a Vicente Fox’s aide as his own.

By Mark Krikorian

“I want the third generation, the seventh generation, I want them all to think ‘Mexico first.’ ” These are the words of Juan Hernandez, John McCain’s “Hispanic outreach director,” on Nightline June 7, 2001.

The blogosphere has been abuzz over the news of Hernandez’s position in the McCain campaign, thanks to the spadework of Michelle Malkin (see here, here, and here) and Jerry Corsi. Thanks also to the power of the Internet, McCain was actually asked about this at an event in Florida Sunday, though he tap-danced his way out of answering directly.

Juan Hernandez is paid by the Reform Institute and is an unpaid volunteer for the McCain campaign. So one might say Soros pays Hernandez and McCain gets his work.

=Hernandez is listed by the Reform Institute as on its staff:

Dr. Juan Hernandez serves as a Senior Fellow of the Institute’s Comprehensive Immigration Reform Initiative. Dr. Hernandez formerly served as a cabinet member to President Vicente Fox as Director of the Office for Mexicans Living Abroad. He is the first American to serve Mexico’s government at this level. He left his cabinet position to create The Organization for Hispanic Advancement, (HispanA, a non-profit 501c3). Dr. Hernández’s recent book, The New American Pioneers, is an authoritative, in depth look at the complex issues related to Mexican immigration.

This is exactly what Mark Krikorian said about Juan Hernandez, that he was a cabinet member for Vicente Fox, i.e. for Mexico. John McCain wants to be president of Mexico and of Iraq at the same time.

The timing is key. One might try to frame the above information as follows. Hernandez supported illegal immigration to the US under Fox before 2007 and was paid by the Reform Institute before 2007 and in 2007 McCain proposed amnesty for the people who came illegally from Mexico while Hernandez was a cabinet member for Fox in charge of promoting that illegal immigration.

Juan Hernandez now as a paid Reform Institute staff member and as unpaid McCain volunteer works on the McCain campaign to legalize the people who came illegally while Hernandez was director of their immigration as a Mexican cabinet officer. Soros is paying part of his salary in this revolving door revolving amnesty career.

So to summarize one might try to say the following. Juan Hernandez was Mexican cabinet secretary of illegal immigration, amnesty, anchor babies, chain migration, and remittances. Then Hernandez was paid by the Reform Institute of McCain Soros. Hernandez still is paid by them while he is an unpaid volunteer for the McCain Campaign.

Hernandez’s job at the McCain Campaign is Director of illegal immigration, amnesty, anchor babies, chain migration, and remittances. His job is to get amnesty for the people who came illegally to the US while Hernandez was Cabinet Secretary of Illegal Immigration for Mexico. While Hernandez was promoting illegal immigration under Fox, McCain was proposing amnesty in the US. Now they are both joined together to give amnesty to those who came while they jointly proclaimed amnesty for illegal immigration under Bush Fox.

The above is speculation, hypotheses or opinion. All statements should be restated as questions. All other disclaimers apply.
