Above is an interesting interview of Sergei Kapitsa. He was the son of Peter Kapitsa, the physicist. In 1980, Sergei Kapitsa interviewed Wassily Leontief. This appeared on Soviet TV under Leonid Brezhnev.

They were absolutely brilliant, these two gentlemen. They exactly know how and why, what they can, and how it should be said. And Leontieff then developed an image, a metaphor, to which he came back many times, that the real breakthrough was, he was speaking of having elements of a market economy–that you cannot control it all through central power. And Zavcev also was sort of in a very sort of way, but doing it very artfully, he was agreeing with this point.

And Leontieff–he developed the image, he says that the role of government in this case is like the helmsman on a sailing ship. You have to control the sails and your rudder to keep the boat running–the ship running in the right direction, but it will be fueled by the forces of the market. That otherwise, if there was no control over the ship by the helmsman, it would go wherever the wind would take it. And he developed this idea in a very skillful manner, and it’s a very good model, I must say, of the interaction of the government and the State and the free market.

The above was around 1980. For every activity this is true. When its all on the central planner, you get failure. This is true of spying and war.

Interviewer: Can you think of some other points in the history of the Soviet development, say from the sixties on, when it could have gone another way; for example, with Kosygin could there have been a kind of reform?

Mr. K: Well, you see, it’s very difficult to say. History has no alternative. You see, it’s a one-way road only. And there are no bifurcations in history. You can imagine them, but there are critical moments in history when you can turn right or left. And this has definitely happened; these are h the various coups and revolutions. But history has a logic of its own which is I think beyond our control, and even our understanding. I can describe things as I saw them. As I acted, I acted on my own behalf. And that’s all I can say. http://www.russianarchives.com/rao/catalogues/trans/trac/trac_kapi_11.html

We did stupid things in the cold war like letting the Soviet Union getting nukes and then building more skyscrapers in New York City and more government buildings in DC. We kept the Pentagon going after the man who built it, built the a-bomb. It still makes no sense not to disperse the Pentagon and the government.

The West won the cold war for two reasons.

  1. The West didn’t destroy itself.
  2. The Soviet Union did.

But today, the West is destroying itself by immigration and Islam. Both must be stopped. In the cold war, the West fought the enemy ideology and didn’t allow it, at least technically, to control institutions or have facilities at Quantico Marine base, or control the lives of prisoners in calls to prayer, etc.

Interviewer: But, as a scientist, this commitment to the truth and living in a state where only certain portions of the truth were allowed in public discussion.

Mr. K: Well, the truth is, I think that’s a very simplified idea of the public attitude, you see. I don’t know how you even get at these ideas. These things were quite openly discussed, you see. It was a question, I say, not of delivering and discussing this thing. You see, I was discussing these issues through the most open and highly controlled informational channel in the country–television. There’s nothing more open than that, you see. So what can you say after that, you see. Various people were distributing manuscripts, and who reads that stuff? It’s only the committee that reads them, but here, everybody was listening to me. And you cannot get away from this. And this is history. It’s the way things happened.

Interviewer: But when we look at this change, it looks to most people, well, it happens so fast.

Mr. K: Well, all revolutions happen fast. The French Revolution was very fast, if you remember history; the Russian Revolution was very fast. The long time is the adjustment after the revolution. That takes a long time. But these transformations happen very fast, and that is what it should be. There’s no other way of doing it.

Also before the revolution there is a long time of debate. The ideas that are out there and documented with evidence for them are the ones that are in the minds of the revolutionaries. The better ideas are written, the better they are organized, and the better the evidence for them is documented, the more they are in the minds of the revolutionaries when change happens.

This is why its important to consider things very carefully and document the evidence for a position, over and over. Its good to frame contradictory hypotheses and test them. The more effort to organize things in a logical or scientific form that is made, the more those are the things in the mind of the revolutionaries. Also they have to do something. They can’t do what was never worked out and written down and developed and criticized. If that didn’t happen, its not there to be used when the revolution comes.

As an example, this is why we have to show that the Wright Island Model requires zero immigration to avoid genetic replacement. Reformers who don’t know that have suggested 250,000 per year as legal immigration. Lou Dobbs and many others say legal immigration is ok. If you know the theorem that legal immigration causes genetic replacement, then you won’t say these things.

So its important to get the scientific theorems out there. The other side knows that, that is why they attack scientists like James Watson. This is why scientists were suppressed in the Soviet Union. But as this makes clear, even on Soviet TV the truth got out sometimes. The same is true on US TV and British TV. While we have web page privileges we need to get everything out we can. Say it all.

Write on the web every truth you know. Whether it is a personal experience that no one can document but you, or a scientific theorem like Wright Island Model that is in every textbook and is ignored anyhow. Write it now. If you can, edit it for good writing, but if you don’t have time or strength, just get it out.

Mr. K: Well, you see, the major point during all these transformations is a change of generations. This, I think, is a crucial thing–changing generations. All–in the first place–all great upheavals like this lead to a lost generation. Take the great Russian literature of the second half of the Nineteenth Century: Turgenev, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky. One of the major things was the lost revolution, a lost generation that appeared after the huge changes in the Russian society after the abolition of serfdom and the economic and political reforms in the middle of the Nineteenth Century. You see, they described the lost generation in a certain sense–the landed gentry that was lost. The same half of the term appeared in fact in Europe–Hemingway, Dos Passos, people like that who wrote about the lost generation of the First World War. They were fighting for great ideals, and when they came back home, what did they find? You see, it’s — that’s the tragedy of all these great upheavals.

Interviewer: And now we have that again.

Mr. K: And now we’re having that again, you see.

We are losing generations to immigration. We are seeing generations that don’t replace themselves because immigrants crowd them out.

Half of Mexicans in the US get welfare. We are paying them to replace us. We are a lost generation from immigration. H-1B from India and China do the same thing. Our politicians ignore the truth. Even at Thanksgiving they have younger relatives who somehow don’t have replacement children.

Even Bill and Hillary Clinton. They couldn’t see it in their own family. Immigration makes it normal to have below replacement children. So even the President and First Lady don’t get it, even when its them.

This is why we should learn science theorems like Wright Island Model, that immigration causes genetic replacement. The only way to stop below replacement fertility is to stop all legal immigration. That includes asylum, student visa, H-1b, amnesty, guest worker, tourist visas from the 3rd world, anchor baby (unique to the US and contrary to early court cases) and all family reunification.
